Hello Burro Friends and Family,
We are getting ready to Rock out! And Funk ourselves silly! And Diva ourselves into the limelight.
Summer Camps begin in June with weekly Music Camps for a variety of experienced youth musicians.
If you are interested in meeting new friends who can play a rocking' guitar solo or a buddy who will hit the drum symbol just right, Rock Band Camp at the Burro is an awesome experience! We love working with experienced bands as well. Whatever your experience level, whatever genre of music, whatever instrument, we are ready to rock with you. We also have one week featuring the music of Funk! So, get your trumpets and kazoos ready! (PS: This is Spencer's favorite genre, so be prepared!!) This camp is one week only: June 15th - 19th from 9:00am to 2:00pm for ages 10 -17.
Diva Camp is designed for young vocalists. During this week-long camp, we welcome special guest instructor, Rose Martini, along with our own Spencer Burrows, to teach song-writing, performance, self-confidence, as well as a professional photo-shoot and end of the week performance. Join us the week of July 20th for ages 8 - 17.
Recording Camp is happening for two weekends this summer with Justin Leonard of JTL Productions. Justin will cover everything from pre-production to final mixing and mastering (no previous experience required).

Filling out this form will help us get you in the camp that's right for you. Auditions are require for new campers. Email for a date!

Starting June 1st, Private Lessons will be on our summer schedule, with weekly lessons happening until August 7th. Lessons are available Monday - Thursday from 2:30 through the evening. Current students, please check your email for information. New Summer Students, we'd love to hear from you! Fall lessons will resume the week of August 17th.
Rock Band Camp is an interactive music workshop with resident performing and recording artist Spencer Burrows where students in the program are assigned a position in the band according to their instrument, age and experience. Each camp will form a new band that may be with one or two guitarists, a drummer, bassist, pianist/keyboard, vocalist, etc. Rock Band Camp is also great for established bands that need some refining or for musicians who would like a new band to rock out with! Ages 10-17. See the schedule below for details. Placement auditions required for new students.

Diva Camp is a motivational and technical workshop for female singers and songwriters who are aspiring performers.
Learn the tricks and techniques of full-fledged diva-hood from Bay Area professional performers Rose Martini and honorary div-o, Spencer Burrows. The program will cover the broad spectrum of being a performer while touching on aspects of the music business, theory and musicianship, vocal technique, songwriting, as well as dealing with societal pressures of the ever changing music world. Additionally, students will be provided with a professional photo-shoot and one new promo image, live recording, and one special night of Diva Performances!
This camp is great for vocalists of all levels. Let this be the thing that helps you get to the next step.

Funk Band Camp!
Calling all outcasts! If it seems like today's pop radio doesn't give you the musical satisfaction you've always longed for, maybe it's time to try the FUNK. Getting in the groove and jamming out are what this camp is all about. And it's not just about the rhythm section, If you are a horn player and have ever wanted to take part in the popular tradition of Funk, Soul, Rhythm and Blues music, this camp is for you! Be part of a real funk band. This is a special one-week camp . Interested students are welcome to audition....It's going to be funk-tacular!

Recording Camp is a two-day camp with Justin Leonard from JTL Productions at The Great Burro Studios. Justin will cover everything from pre-production to final mixing and mastering (no previous experience required). We will start by going over the material that we will be working with, followed by a discussion about signal flow and the equipment used in recording. Day one will focus on getting hands-on training in mic selection and placement, as we record each instrument. We will cover editing performances, and post-production of the recorded material, followed by the mix process (day two). Camp will conclude with a discussion on how to finish a recording project and publish the material. This camp is very fun and will prepare you to make the best recordings you can with whatever equipment is available. Come develop your listening, understanding of sound, and intuition for recording that will help you become a great engineer!
